The STAND UP event in Sydney today at Martin Place brought 850 people to STAND up against poverty. Although for a while it looked like we wouldn't get that many people, as it was raining on and off for most of the day before 1pm, and we hadn't had all that much of a positive response before the event while we were handing out flyers and free, fair trade chocolate and generally rasing awareness about the event in the Sydney CBD.

But in the end th event was awesome. MC Axel Whitehead did a great job, our muso was awesome, and there was a vibe which was awesome as well (hey, there really isn't any other word to describe it :P)

We had large "mak poverty history" letters, and we had a few photo ops in front of the Harbour bridgeas well as quite close to the Opera House (unfortunately we weren't allowed to take a photo on the Opera House steps, as four security guards soon told us.

After the event a few people stayed around wanting more info, and overall it was a success! I personally think more people could have turned up, but for the type of day it was, it was great!!
